About TARSI
Tanzania Road Safety Initiative (TARSI) is a non-governmental organization registered under the NGO Act, No. 24 of 2002 with a registration number 00NGO/R/3292. Since its registration TARSI has been working through advocacy, capacity building, and awareness raising on road safety in alignment with the National Road Safety Strategy in the local communities through seminars, forums, dialogues, and training.
In ensuring road safety and sustainable development, TARSI operates in all regions of Tanzania’s mainland. TARSI works on Policy analysis, Capacity building, and community awareness raising on Road safety for sustainable development. TARSI works align with WHO's mission of reducing traffic accidents by 50% by 2030.

to be the leading organization in promoting and advocating for the appropriate road use to attain free of traffic accidents, death, and injuries in Tanzania.
Our Mission
To champion the best practices in the appropriate, efficient, comfortable, and safe roads through sharing of knowledge and experience by organizing stakeholders’ forums, training, conducting research and projects which employ sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies.
